High efficiency LED luminaires often have visible LEDs that can cause an unsightly appearance. Masking the LEDs may involve increasing the opacity of the diffuser , which has a negative effect on efficiency. Thorlux have opted to use a clear diffuser and an indirect light source to produce the Ovix, a highly efficient LED luminaire without the ‘spotting’ so often associated with high efficiency. The excellent lateral light distribution allows for wider spacings than possible with 38W 2D or existing LED luminaires.
